Thank you!

POSTED IN NEWS June 11, 2012

It has been another huge year for the festival in only its second year and we wanted to take this opportunity to say Thank you to a lot of people and organisations that made it happen.

Firstly, to the theatre producers and performers who presented amazing work during the festival! The festival is all about providing exciting performance for audiences anywhere and we’d like to thank all the companies who did just that!

We’d like to thank the volunteer Anywhere Reviewers who were both incisive and incredibly prompt, providing reviews to us in a 24 hour turn around. Thank you Samuel Boyd, Sharee Cordes, Sarah Keating, Nicholas Roberston, Shirley Way and Marj-Liisa Rintala,

To the Anywhere Photographers who took some so many amazing images of the festival we still don’t know how to cut it down to the best 20 – Gerry Nicholls, Allan Allport, Dan Eady, Ash Mac, Lynette Letic and Amanda Dean.

To Kelly Wong the Anywhere Theatre Festival Twitter guru on @anywherefest and Dana Thomas for taking over our Facebook page.

To the Anywhere Theatre Festival Board who have been a bedrock of support, advice and most importantly action in the year leading up to the festival – Doug Brimblecombe, Helen Astbury, Lynn Smart and Elliott Dalgleish

Our major Festival Partners: Arts Queensland, State Library of Queensland, Brisbane Marketing, Oblong + Sons, Northshore Hamilton, Brisbane City Council and Queensland Rail. To find out more about how they helped, head to our partners page.

Our key industry partners Queensland Theatre Company, Heritage Bank, Pozible and Multi Image Productions.

We’d also like to thank many of the amazing people in the media who gave us time to talk, take photographs and write about us, from Sandar Killen at U On Sunday, Nathaneal Cooper and his team at the Courier Mail, mXBrisbane, Spencer Howson at 612 ABC, all the papers of the Quest Newspaper chain, Baz McAlister at Time Off, ArtsHub, MustDoBrisbane.com.au, Scene, ABC Radio National, Sommer Tothill at Brisbane Times, Rave, Village Voice, 4BC and The Australian and many many more that you can find here.

We would also like to thank The Bremer Institute of TAFE and many of the staff for being so supportive during the 2011 and 2012 festival in so many ways. It couldn’t have happened without you!

Also on a personal note, we’d also like to thank my parents Peter and Margaret Osuch who looked after Alexandra’s and my two boys during the run of the festival and to Wendy and Peter McTavish for giving us a brilliant bolthole somewhere else to stay during the ten days so our boys could get some nan and pop time and we could focus on the festival.

See you next year!
